If you only had one copper rod

Right now I'm fishing 2 riggers and up to four dipsey rods on my boat.  I have an extra Convector CV45 reel and copper rod that I would like to set up.  I only fish the west end of the lake near the bar and Wilson. I was thinking of making a 200 copper combo and I was leaning towards Torpedo weighted steel and wire backing.  According to their video I could let out additional wire backing and achieve greater depth than just the 200 copper.  So, what length of copper should I set up and what do I use for backing?  Thanks in advance.

There's a few ways ... I just used a Albright, I didn't think it would hold very well but after several mature fish no issues

Torpedo diver has a video or two on their Facebook page I believe

i have 300 ft rods and a L O U  member told me to use a  snap weight on the backing just above the copper to get it deeper when needed .

600 32lb Mark it every 100 feet let out what I want in the chute. Cover 20 to over 110 feet of water consistently.

And he has the Popeye arms to prove it (from reeling it in)

And thus does another brave soul start down the infamous path toward the inevitable copper-diver tangle.

My advice: broaden your vocabulary before it happens. We are sailors of a sort after all...we should know how to express ourselves appropriately.

In the voice of Jack Nicholson. ......

I wouldn't let any experts from the fishing community see this but, you can avoid the inevitable copper/diver FUBAR...just put them both together before the FUBAR. Now does that make any sense? Wire and diver...diver and wire...copper is wire?
