A friend of mine just took me fishing for perch for the first time and I had a blast. We used something called crappy sliders on 1/8 oz jigs. Was curious about what other artificial baits do you recommend for fish perch on the finger lakes? I really enjoyed the laid back relaxing environment compared to trolling for Trout and Salmon. Great change of pace.

I just came here to read the comments. I do know though you have to pretty much kill someone to get any info on perch on Seneca. This is the first thread I've read on here that someone has mentioned sliders. It was a big secret for awhile.

Small jigs are usually a good option.  I like to tip them with Gulp minnows.  They have 1" and 1.5" sizes that are great for perch fishing.

One of these days I am going to try drop shotting trout flies.  I would imagine that nymph imitations would be deadly along weed lines.

When perch are really active, they'll hit on alot of artificials that you wouldn't expect, crankbaits and inline spinners for example.

Usually the problem is finding what they will hit when they aren't hitting anything.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I may know some secrets.  It is hard to say - I fish so well in my dreams.
