Spiny water fleas on the SLR

Fleas have been more prevalent on the SLR over the last several years. Never saw them till fairly recently. This year is the worst I've experienced. Really an issue when using braid trolling. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Not what I want to hear, I've got about dozen rods spooled with braid ready for Friday.
Only good thing is the 30 pound mono underneath.

I ran 30 lb mono on rigger and it wasn't too bad.

20lb mono and 15lb fluoro was covered within a half hour. Even in 15-20 ft. Started 3 weeks ago

I am not sure if it's any indication, but on the lake out of Henderson, we have been seeing fewer fleas the past two weeks. What we do have stuck to our lines are crusty and dead. That's on the 30lb mono gear.

Fished yesterday

 

ran 30 # big game trilene  and still had ck ever 15 mins !

Heavy flees out of Henderson yesterday with 20# test.  30# much better.

Fleas are bad, swapped out 12 lb leader for 25lb, 30 min troll then clean.
