Wire and dipsy diver question

I have always ran braided line for my dipsies. It seems like most of you guys like the wire better. I have been thinking about switching. I will run 2 magnum divers and 2 divers that are the next size down. What does the wire do to the dive chart for them ? I have seen a lot of posts with divers running back 200-250' back. Is there something out there that that shows line out to depth? Or is there a general rule for letting it out ? The other question is color. Is there one that works better ? The one I have are firetigger, char/green, char/Orange. Should I just paint them black ?

 

I also broke down and bought the fish hawk x4. What is your guys advise on where to mount the head unit.
