I have 3 batts, 1 starter, 2 in series for 24v trolling motor, question is can I wire to one of the trolling batts to get 12 volts, and still keep the 2 in series for trolling motor? I want the 12v for acc on boat without using the starter batt to do it

I think you can. As long as you run independent wires to the positive and negative of one battery only you should have only 12 volts.

Take an ohm meter and measure one battery on the 24 volt set up. You should measure 12 volts. You should only see 24 volts from the pos lead from bat 1 and the neg lead from bat 2 when both bat 1 and 2 are connect at pos and neg.

Correct, if I measure each battery by itself you get 12v not 24, so I agree it would work
