Could be bad connections from batteries to engine , clean where ground attaches to block and where positive attaches to starter . If after that when it does it check for power or continuity at main breaker in engine compartment.  It may possibly get warm and interrupt circuit but not trip .

Check the main black engine harness plug for tightness & corrosion before you get too far into it.

my buddy 89 islander dose this too . its a omc and has a glass fuse in the wiring harness once in awhile it acts up , clean the ends of the fuse and its set till next time
