Lake o is very deep idk..where u would anchor or what u plan on doing fishing at night can b done but is hard u can't see the lines and a big fish will run u ragged ...if u wanted to go out fish come to port of your choice crash and back out that's very possible but to sleep aimlessly at sea idk

I have in the 1000 islands. Fish all day, eat on an island or go to town for dinner. Then back out to an island cove and drop a hook bow/stern. I have spent an entire week doing that. If I had to do that in open lake conditions, that would get really boring really fast.

Id be very nervous about the weather and waves. You can get in trouble during the day when you see it coming, never mind at night when you cant see the hand in front of your face out there,It does sound like fun though...Be careful and let us know if you do it...

Definitely would be taking a chance especially how fast the wind picks up out there...id find a slip if overnighting it...I agree st.Lawrence is perfect for anchoring for the night...best of luck and have fun

The lake is not safe for overnight anchoring for anyone's boat. Best bet is to get a slip at the fine harbors along the shoreline. Be safe out there.

Besides all the good advice above there are these big boats out there called Lake Freighters, along with the Ocean variety. Since anchoring is near impossible out there if you were to drift into one of the shipping lanes [ fog or no fog ]  it could end badly for you, just saying.

There's an inner pond inside of Stony Island... my brother and I have talked about overnighting there.

i was referring, more to the last two answers , On the eastern end, there are multiple islands with coves, protected ponds, etc. that would work well for overnighting. As a matter of fact, I can think of a couple spots where overnighting is very popular. thats more what i was looking for will also look for stony island thanx
