Decided to target browns for the morning part of my full day grind. Glad I did... the bite was pretty good with steady action in 50-60' much of the morning. Once it slowed I pointed north with hopes to stumble onto mature kings. That did not happen but I did boat many skippys and one 9# steelhead and a 16# king.

 

Browns chewed mainly on ssw, watermelon, and frog spoons in standard and slims.. the kings and steelhead came on green gator stingray and a purple stinger in stingray size.

 

Almost No fleas but many hungry flies!

Nothing wrong with that great job its tough to give up the morning bight looks like browns were giving thanks to you for fishing for them .

Nice work! You sure had those browns dialed in....Those pesky flies seem to love it when it goes flat and the sun comes out

Interestingly the flies were fine all morning in tight..they got almost unbearable out deep tho!

Yeah it makes you wonder where they come from ....way out there in the middle of nowhere...I've often wondered if they hatch on the water out there or something...

tons of browms in close last night,30 over 50 solid fish as temp was high.46 degrees 50 down over 90 

few kings in close where I was west of port

John- Yea I got a bunch on a 35 rigger and 5/7 color lead core!

Ghost -My August will depend on the wind! Hoping to get out every weekend and during the week! My fishing logbook for 2017 is pretty thin!
