First time fishing Lake Ontario.

Hey everybody.

I will be heading up to Lake Ontario for the first time to fish for salmon/smallmouth on a charter boat next weekend. I am staying at selKirk camp grounds and I have a kayak. My question is I will be trying to target some smallmouth for kayak/ shore. what baits/lures and tactics do you recommend?
