big laker 8-6-17

Launched at Taughannock Park......headed north of the Boy Scout camp. Set up 2 dipseys for lake trout....one 255 ft. back. One 300 ft. back. I suppose they were down 75 to 85 or 90 ft. of water.  Saw a BUNCH of baitfish on the way to Kidders. Caught 5 or so Lakers, 3 to 6 lbs. Not bad. They were all in 85-100 ft. of water. Then, a BIG hit....wow. I thought my rod would break. I had to stop the boat because I could not move the fish an inch...really strange. Then a felt a powerful tugging and I thought it must be tail hooked. It felt like bringing in a barn door...sideways. Long story short....14 lb. Laker!!!   Not bad for Cayuga. When I figure this out, I will post some pics.

Very nice fish! I got one that size on my UL rigger rod the other day. Took my linecounter out to 300 from 75 before I could stop him!
