Can someone explain to me how the youth div works? I see on the board a Salmon at 27.15 lbs. How does that work into the mix? Or is the youth div completely separate? I read it as the youth is a mix of the main. If that is true the 27.15 is out.

All youth competes as an adult. They are recognized on the leaderboard as a youth. There used to be a separate youth division but it was taken out. The one year at the awards ceremony, a kid was asked by Dave Chilson how he caught the fish and the kid replied "I did not catch the fish my dad did". Oops.

There is no youth division, the youth that enters the largest fish of each species receives a trophy. As long as the fish met the required minimum weight, this weight will hold even when division minimums are greater.

In addition youths are eligible for all divisional prizes and when they are listed on the leaderboard (Youth) will follow their name.
