Pulaski Salmon River area campgrounds

Heading up that way to fish for the first time Monday and Tuesday and, while I am content to sleep in my truck, one of my fishing Partners insist on having at least somewhere to put up a tent. Is there anywhere in that area that is convenient to one of the launches where we could throw up a couple tents? Don't really care if it's just state land to informally camp on or a proper, cheap Campground. Don't really want to be more than 5 or 10 minutes away from a launch Thanks

salmon country in little texas (104 b )will let do what you want to do and its 2 mins from mexico point launch or launch at salmon country .

Is the pine grove launch sufficient for a 19' Aluminum to get to the lake without running aground?

Yes it is just keep trimmed up to get away from the ramp a little bit and then it's fine

I used the tank when I had a 19'cast fibreglass and it worked fine. As mentioned keep the trim up. When you leave the ramp head towards the lake. Don't try to cut across right at the end of the cattails the water is low there.

What about those two trees you have to drive between when you are coming into the site.  Are they far enough apart to accommodate bigger boats?

How big a boat. I was using it last year with my 19' SeaRay with plenty of room to spare.
