Congrats on a beutifull buck!! You will never forget the 1st track jobs with the kids, I know I won't. My son's was during day light hours when we tracked a doe, but he still HAD to bring a flash light so he could see the blood. What it's all about!

REDEMPTION!

Hit a doe with my car yesterday morning on the way to work. UGH.. Hit this one with a rage last night with my Mathews! 19.5 inside 8 pt.. I have a ton of pics of him, and saw him at 90 yds on 10/2. Last night he was destroying a tree in the thick stuff behind me and came out to the field edge and started to walk away but turned towards a doe already out in the field and walked right in to 23 yds. At the shot he wheeled and ran and I heard him crash (Both lungs). I went and got my son Daniel (his first track job) and my Dad. He only went 70 yds. Not a big body, but its nice to get one you are targeting. My son and daughter (twin 6 year olds) were unbelievably excited!! Doesn't get much better. Good Luck to all!

Great job - awesome story!

You are doing it right if he was a buck you were targeting.

Thx for sharing

That's a very nice pic to go with a very nice buck.  I am trying to imagine what the pick might look like of you standing in front of the Kia with the suicidal doe.  I like this one better.

My facial expression as well as vocabulary were just a wee bit different!

Wow nice buck DJ.  Congratulations.  Hopefully you had comprehensive coverage on your car for the deer hit and rental to get you a car while you're is being repaired.  November is when I start to get a lot of calls from my clients about that same thing and we have to get a claim setup.

Found this on my way out. It may not look like much and the photos might not do it justice but it looks like two bucks battled it out. All the high grass is knocked down and the ground is all tore up.

Great to see you get the kids involved with the hunt DJ 17.  Also a great buck.   I just want to follow up on my post and say thanks to all for the shared enthusiasm.   The property I hunt in Bristol really came active once it received good management.   The deer activity has really improved once management of food plots, hinge cutting and travel corridors were implemented.    Within the last three years of management we’ve harvested 3 buck for the wall.   We have also encountered coyotes and bear while the property continues to hold the big deer.  Last year we planted turnips which was great late season and this year was clover which held deer all year.  It’s incredible to see the improvements the management have done to the property and just three years.  If you have any questions on the management techniques we did, message me.   I will post some pictures from the property to show how improvements to small hunting land goes a long way for great hunts.  E51DDB54-829F-40D0-B43C-BE885813CD84.thumb.png.30585e913a84a4e4c59858108a1ad1b1.png5B0C12FF-95CE-4E24-818C-947CCF12CEF6.thumb.jpeg.516445c3aff0e1cf20e0c66f6da677ef.jpeg2B84CEA4-66FA-4D50-BC15-D49B25F37BA5.thumb.png.bf77eeb2462adb40de2bd6c998baa7c8.png242731B4-0924-4E59-9736-A40FF8970AEA.thumb.jpeg.7c988ea4ac68f48cf06feda47e431aac.jpeg

64 degrees

SE wind 5mph becoming sw 5 mph

Partly cloudy

Crazy sit yesterday pm. I got there late (5pm) and there were already deer in the field. 16+ deer including 6 bucks. One giant, one shooter, one possible shooter. Witnessed some chasing by small bucks and some sparring by two young bucks.
