DIY..... went with the bow early season last year with zero success. Way to hot and thick that time of year where we were. This year we will be there for their late muzzle loader season. Hopes are not to high but, it's called hunting for a reason.

Best of luck and enjoy. I took my first ever hunting trip this yr. to Montana with a friend who had gone before ..... It still has a grip on me. Think I'll be taking other trips.

Where in Montana did you hunt I’ve been out there quite a few times and my dad and uncle have shot some real big bucks out there

Hunted just outside of Plains ..... stayed in Paradise which is just down the road. Saw a ton of Elk but couldn't connect on a legal bull. Shot a decent 9 pt. whitetail buck on Thanksgiving morning. Beautiful country

Tuesday was the first day of PA late archery/flintlock season with 54" of fresh snow in Erie county it was tag soup for dinner. Wednesday another 6+ inches and some tags were cut up for tag tips over noodles. I needed carbs for shoveling. Thursday worked late and prepared gun for first hunt Friday afternoon hunt down at camp in Warren due to working in Bradford. I heard they only have 4 inches. Then drive back to Erie because of another 6 to 12 inches on the way. And possibly a Saturday afternoon hunt somewhere.

Thanks to everyone for posting and congratulations to those who were successful.

Good luck, they take some really good bucks in late season according to things I read.

Friday 12/29 location ANF Rocky Gap Trail Head.

With only 4" of snow and 11 degrees I was able to hunt 3 to 5 PM.

Stood for an hour and a half then started looking on the way out. Ran into 3 does as they ran off. Snow blowing this AM then hopefully back to camp

For anyone looking for new camo, Scent Blocker is having a 50% off sale plus free shipping (on orders over $99). https://www.robinsonoutdoors.com/

I bought two suits last year and have been very happy with them so far.

I bought the "outfitter" suit for cold weather. https://www.robinsonoutdoors.com/shop/outfitter-suit.html

And I bought the "Drencher" suit for warm weather. https://www.robinsonoutdoors.com/shop/drencher-suit.html

My brother in law is headed out this weekend also, he was out for archery season. Man those deer had the most fat under the hide I ever saw. Will be interesting to see what the fat content is now after this hard winter, even though it’s early into the winter season.

In addition to Rob's comment on Scent Blocker, I noticed this morning that MidwayUSA is also having a big sale on many items including some good names in Hunting clothes. Look under the Big Game Seasonal Blowout heading: https://www.midwayusa.com/

Tonight's view. Found tons of sign in this area while scouting this afternoon. It's about 3 degrees with a 15- 20 mph breeze! Cold!

Joined LOU this spring, had to drop in this past years bow kill.  Oct 15th 2017 killed working a scrape line.  It was like 82 degrees that day it went straight to log city meats to butcher no time for hanging.
