Temp line

 What do they call the surface temp break I hear about. Finally got to see it, last sat.it in the background.. I was in 240 ft.

I think it's called a scum line.

If it is the area where the darker water meets with lighter colored water it may be a thermal break and a scum line may or may not be associated with it (debris on surface or submerged along a line often with seagulls sitting in or near it).Can be productive fishing along the edge of it in and out.

Figured it out after looking much closer at pics from recent catches. I guess this was a coho. I didn't even realize!

Black in the mouth is the easiest way to tell, steelhead do not have any black in their mouth
