Know of anywhere that's a good public spot to set up?

It's just about iced up for the year , ice pack is probably in to deep of water to Wade out now , and getting in and out of a vessel of any sort would be crazy with the mountain ice pack. Going to look again tomorrow.

Gotta love getting snowball's out of a dogs beard haha. He looks good.

If you want to do the fingerlakes seneca and Cayuga are wide open. I know you can hunt Sampson. We're doing Cayuga today. Will report.

Hunted Cayuga just north of aurora this morning. It was pretty brutal.  Tons of birds moving but definately not for the faint of heart. Keeping gear out was almost impossible because of the waves. It was mostly pass shooting. Managed to shoot 8 redheads and a black. Had a big beautiful single drake come in on the longline that my buddy shot. Banded in Alberta in 2012. Pretty cool. There's plenty of birds there.

Alberta is interesting because it is so far West. You think of migratory flights running North- South

Yeah I thought the same thing. Although it was banded 5 years ago. That's a lot of migration. we're doing cayuga tomorrow again and yeah 20 degrees  with mild wind sounds Damn inviting haha

Not much action today. There was so much fog on the water I don't think the birds could see us very well. One week to go...Snapchat-413243929.jpg

Did you hunt Seneca out of Watkins? That truck in the back and your boat looks like the guys that’s pulled us out of the icy ramp:rofl:. If so, thanks again!

That was us, late season duck hunters need to stick together. Nice job today

I will probably head north next weekend maybe even hit cauyga. I don't think I will have time to scout this week though so I may have to stick with what I know

Well another day on cayuga and another small limit of redheads. And believe it or not another banded redhead drake. This one from Saskatchewan in 2014. The majority of birds we saw were redheads and there's plenty of them. Good luck out there. I'm taking a day off tomorrow.

Nice job again !!

Hunted the Big O for a hour or so with a buddy. Had a 4 pack of bills get cartwheeled on 4 shots right when we got set up. Then we picked away quick cuz the 4 foot rollers started to cap with that wind changing to the West. IMG_20180108_150838.jpgIMG_20180108_150936.jpg
