Oak leaf grubs, can we still use them from Lake to lake

I'm not sure why there'd be special regulations pertaining to Oakies, but it's interesting that a related bug the European Crane Fly larvae, also called a leatherback, has become a prominent invasive in upstate NY. Unlike Oakies which can be found in stream debris, the European version inhabits your lawn! All those big mosquito-looking things that have been laying eggs in clouds over your lawn the past two weeks are European Crane Flies. They're an enormous nuisance and the grubs can create large bare patches in the sod. So, if you want to fish Oakies these days, you could likely go dig them up from your lawn .
