Musky Season

Anyone have luck yet? I just fished the past two days, both in the early morning, no luck, just one small pike in between work. What are you casting/trolling? The jakes have proven to be great over the past year for me.

Can any of you give me advice on how to fish in heavy winds? Do musky stack up on shoals where the wind is blowing into the points, or hide out on the leeward side and in the weeds? I never have luck in heavy wind conditions. Much appreciated

My great grandfather was a SLR fishing guide. He always said that the muskie fishing was excellent after a 3 day blow..... that said I think fish are caught in snotty weather as well. Its just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. I know my uncle has boated several fish in conditions where his guest could barely stand up....

My uncle caught this 56" yesterday near cape vincent. he was fishing with our cousin capt jeff garnsey. My uncle's boat needs some major repairs and is in dry dock this fall. He had the muskie blues and was psyhed to get out. Great october morning.

Yea buddy that's a slammer, congrats to all that made this guys day!! By the way beautiful boat!! A musky is the only fish I never caught. I had some fish spool me fishing for eyes, I caught a few pike pushing 40" that I could hold, but not what ever I hooked into those few times??

Great fish!!! I have only caught one muskie. I was spring walleye fishing in Chaumont bay and he hit a spoon I was letting out. The strike and power of that fish was never like anything I had experienced before. He was 48" long, admired quickly and released, hopefully to give another angler a memory that they will never forget.
