Brown trout

Anybody having any luck trolling shallow for brown trout and steelhead, using a spring brown trout program. Raplalas, bay rats, goby spoons?

I’m going on the 15th. If the forecast doesn’t change for the worse, should I go to Henderson for Walleye or head to the Oak for Browns ..... think, think , think .....

Just got an order of 4 from Yakima. Can't wait to get em wet

Missed out last spring, won't happen this year, can't wait to drag some sticks. Still have a month till I'll be up. High hopes!

Last year was the first time ever doing the brown trout thing......LOVED IT!!!!!  Can't wait to get back on them!!!

Waiting on a dozen mag lips allways looking for that silver bullet.lol

Still learning techniques on the early birds. Usally run out of Mexico launch and run boards with sticks, and a couple med stingers off the transom. 10 to 20 fow over bumpy bottom. Usually pick up a couple, but it would be nice to increase the catch. Any pointers? How deep do those mag lips run anyway ?

Depends on size and set back but they dig pretty deep .

According to what Yakima puts out

2.5 up to 8'
3.0 up to 10'
3.5 up to 14'

Good info, thanks. Can't have too many lures. I'll probably have to get the extra keels for the otter boats to accommodate the drag. More stuff to think about.

The single keels will be fine for pulling those mag lips or any stickbaits. The double keels help when you put out long coppers later in the year.
