Looking into a new boat with a lowrance 24nm radar system. Understanding that this shows weather but will it also show individual boats.

It it would be nice to see where all the other boats are fishing especially during tourney time.

Yes they show individual boats ,that's pretty much what they were designed for. Out in a fog and can't see your hand in front of your face or moonless dark nights, radar is a lifesaver This will get you back home without getting or being T Boned and not having a freighter run you over. Use it in conjunction with your GPS to get you back to port in one piece. Newer ones will even pick up birds along with buoys in the harbor. Seeing where other boats are fishing in most cases is a waste of time, what speed are they running, what lures are they using and at what depth.,etc.etc. Way too many variables to worry about other boats, just stay focused on your own program and you probably will do better than worrying about everybody else.

RD9, I know you fish mostly Erie......knowing where the fleet is definitely would help to know where the Walleyes are.

Yep find the pack and fish the outside, that’s how we did it in Port Clinton. We came late and left early, with a 4 man ticket!!!

Yes, the radar set to lower gain will show boats, then as you increase gain, it will show smaller objects, birds and rain.

It is irreplaceable on the days you need it! But it doesn't replace adequate watch and appropriate speed for the conditions no matter how defined the image is...

Its nice to see how many boats are fishing the Canadian line especially during tourney time. Erie Walleye fishing is all about location, everything else is secondary.

Thanks for all the responses.
