Cannon Mag 10 telescopic boom problem

The boom on one of my mag 10 down riggers  won't lock in place after being adjusted to where I want it. Could that possibly be the intermediate tube collet?

More than likely yes. They are just a plastic collar and can get worn after time. There should be a nipple on the collar that fits in the boom. Sometimes they get broken off and cause similar issues.

Yes, as you likely already know, Fish 307 has these fairly inexpensive. Will prob cost more to ship.

One thing I would advise is to order an extra one or set. I always have a spare set aboard. They are a easy to change and when they go they can ruin a trip or weekend.
