Thanks for the suggestion!! Made some perch cakes for the kids for dinner this evening.... mom is out of town. Nice change from usual fish fry. Instant hit.

Perch fillets boiled for 1min then pulled apart

Sauted diced onions (would have added celery but out)

Crumbled bacon strips

Seasoning of your choice( season all, pepper, garlic powder, dill)

2 eggs

Seasoned bread crumbs

Parmesan cheese

Add a touch of milk if too dry.

Mix, pan fry.

ENJOY

Could one of you guys make a batch and deliver them to me? Jim may be chronologically differently-abled, but I'm just lazy.

Anybody want to try navigating what's left of the ice with this snow on top of it? Please, let me know where you're fishing. I'll meet you there. And collect your gear .

Seriously though, I doubt anybody would go out at this point, but can you imagine what it'd be like if we still had ice? What a mess! I think I'm fishing a kayak this weekend because it's the only boat I'm likely to be able to get near the water.

The east end from the pics and satellites, looks like a lot of ice yet. Anyone that lives at the east end could you give us not so lucky folks a on the scene a report on the ice conditions. Not to ice fish but how long till melt off. Thanks PAP.

The ice was somewhat variable in thickness yesterday but hard ice. In some places it was less than three inches so care still  neeeds to be taken out there and not a good idea to have 4 or 5 guys standing around together in some places.  Honeoye also has random gas pockets in places that can severely affect the integrity of the ice so if unfamiliar with the lake especially use caution, carry pics, and use a spud to navigate. float suit always a good idea no matter where you go.
