Mason Leadcore....FYI

Hey guys...I spooled up some Mason 27lb leadcore this spring. I don't run core much except for spring and fall. Summer is usually copper time. Anyway i had lead poking through the sheath throughout the whole 10 colors. Finally, last weekend I had a fish hit the 10 color and when i went to snap it off the board my leadcore broke about 5" from the knot. I have my scotty's on the power pro, so it didn't break from a hard hit from having the release on the core.. I did notice some lead poking through the sheath when I let it out, but it has been like that and I wasn't in the mood to fix it....lazy....

Anyway, I called Mason up yesterday and she knew of the problem with their 27lb test right away. If you are experiencing this call them up and they will replace it for you as long as you send in the bad stuff. She, the lady who answered the phone, was great about the situation. Very good customer service!

Thanks Rich. I just spoolled up 1full core and 2 5 colors. Haven't used them much but I will being keeping my eye on them for sure.
