Im having a hard time understanding where kings live in the early spring to say july when they become more comon catch. Is it that there just to scatterd to target or do they inhabt water to deep to target? What is it!

In the spring the first thing you look for is bait. The more bait you can find the better.  Alewives and smelt will be concentrated near warm water discharges on LO.  Thats where the Kings will be. Once the ice boom is

gone there is no better place to be then the Niagara Bar.  Typically trolling in 50 to150 fow.  Good luck!!

Kings, like any cold blooded creature, are temperature oriented. Until the surface temp nears 42 or 43 kings will do very little and be very difficult to catch.
Once the water cracks that magical "42" kings will be found chasing bait. Look for the warmest water you can find, with color and bait and you'll find very hungry kings.
