Ok, I'll start.....

She CRUSHED IT!

I picture a good fish coming up behind a lure and barely nipping the last hook just to test things out and accidentally getting lip hooked.  Angler feels the weight of the fish and fights it to the boat and without fail, the first words out of their mouth once the fish is in the net...... "she just crushed it!"

This cold weather has me watching too many musky videos on YouTube recently.

It's barely hooked!

Ironically, if the fish "crushes it" or not, they are always proclaimed to be "barely hooked" when it is near net time...

giant/true giant, 40 pounder

I enjoy this more when it was the "fish that got away"...it was a giant!

Zach once told me the rarest musky in the world is a 49.5" incher.... I believe this to be true as you said Smoke-N-Finn.

How about? I knew that fish was there, I had her hooked for 10 seconds, you should have seen the one that came up with her. Lol

On my boat these overused phrases are usually questions from customers.

1. How big do they have to be to keep?

2  What if I get a really big one can I keep it then?

3. What if it's a state record then can I keep it?

4.  How big do you think that one was?

Answers

36 but it doesn't matter because we aren't keeping one

No

No but I'll measure it!

From my good buddies book , The Quest for Girthra , listed under Musky Bill's List of Forty  # 23- I didn't catch any, but I lost a 50-incher.  RIP Goober

Usually when we pack it up for the day someone says "and that's why they're the fish of 10,000 casts"

(While trolling) " we gotta be at about 9,837 casts by now, ones gonna bite soon. "

3 min later. 9934

6 min later. 9968

Etc

Etc

“Had three follows”. Translation: I missed one that slashed at the lure as I lifted it out without doing a figure eight because I got sloppy after 7 hours of nothing.

When fishing with my Dad I have to tell him after he has caught 2 or 3, if you catch 1 more before I get 1 your swimming back. Lol.
