Canadian Derby Info-results

I have been doing some searching on-line and I came accross some Canadian derby's with unbelievable prizes. First place $40,000 in cash and prizes, 2nd place $30,000 in cash and prizes......... It seems as though they have great corporate sponsership- why do we only have the LOC? The grand LOC prize is less then 5th place of these others
