Getting close to turkey time. Hard to believe with winter still hanging around. Haven’t done any scouting yet but the flock in my backyard has a couple long beards in it. Pics are from my rear sliding door this morning. I think a late spring is a great thing for the turkey hunting.

I prefer a tender, young poult...too bad you can only shoot those stringy old birds during the spring season

Thoughts on Braddock's?  This year will be my first crack at them.  Braddock's is close for me and I have seen them off the side of the parkway.

Thanks

You have just as good a chance as anyone else. Go in there and give them a try. Ive killed long beards along the parkway you just have to be willing to deal with all the other hunters who like to walk in as your working the birds. Everyone who drives down the parkway see those birds as well.

Think it’s going to be a tough season where I hunt. Have some birds around but not as many as previous years.
Really looking forward to Tuesday.

The gobbles I have located are henned up also. It's going to make for a tough first week or 2

What you can do to fire those henned up birds is use a tom decoy in full strut and gobble at them alot it will piss off the dominant bird and bring him running . Good luck !

Use gobbles with caution...... Often, it'll attract more hunters than birds.

exact reason i dont use gobbles.  I hunt mainly public land so i want the least amount of gobbling as i can get.   Noisey birds attract attention
