It’s not so much sturdiness as it is position on the boat.

Rod trees are best mounted forward with rod holders oriented upwards and away from other gear. They’re used with planer boards.

Divers are best run a little forward of the side rigger boom and angled so the rod points to the side and parallel to the water’s surface.

I would recommend a dedicated heavy duty diver rod holder.

Get a ratcheting rod holder or you'll lose more fish than you'll catch. Very difficult to get out of holders otherwise. Rod trees great for planer rods. Pick up some Bert's, Cisco, or Cannon ratcheting holders and mount them on tracks big enough for two to three holders and you'll be very happy you did. I run Cannon dual axis holders and love them!! If your planning mostly browns skip dipsys and run your planers and riggers and leadcore. Salmon then get the dipsys 150%
