Cannon 4 inch swivel base mounting

Sorry for all the questions guys. I just ordered 4 inch cannon swivel bases. Can I mount them directly to the deck or do I need another base plate?

You might need a piece of 6” track if they are track-mounted swivel bases.

I think they are the ones that mount to the deck. I’m waiting impatiently for them in the mail

I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like the holes in the corner of the bases are for deck mounting.

Ok that was my thought but I didn’t know if I needed some kind of deck plate

Some of those bases have a thin rubber "mat" under them to protect the deck. Are you mounting them where you can use a backer plate under the deck?

This....definitely the best option is to mount with plate under with bolt and lock washers.

As for the rubber I mounted all my tracks with .25 neoprene rubber under them bought it off ebay relatively cheap. Also bought my aluminum plate off eBay too and marked and drilled the holes.

not sure I will have to access late off and see if I can. Maybe able to but will be tricky
