Trolled east to Selkirk missed one,then west to catfish caught a white fish I think,boat ran good but wouldn’t start to come back dead battery? Thank god for the kicker motor! Good to get out!

Sounds like maybe your electronics ran your main battery too low.  The kicker was either still running or took a lot less juice to start.  Does the kicker have a charging system tied into your main battery for the big motor?  Food for thought that you might want to start the main motor every once in awhile while trolling on the kicker and let it recharge.

Yes I think that’s what happened was going to charge main battery but engine turned over good , kicker is pull,start ,thanks Giz

Put a jumper battery on board just in case . We will on Mexico Bay in two weeks.

Spare battery is never a bad thing.

I have a two battery system in my boat. The main motor has its own battery. Nothing else hook to it. The kicker has charging system and maintains the accessory battery. Hasn't failed me yet. Take care and good fishing

Thanks have two for electric trolling motor just need to put some jumper cables in?never have had it happen before.
