Fly Fishing the Fingerlakes

Has anyone ever fly fished in the lakes. Not the tributaries. I want to target trout and salmon but not really sure how to do it. I assume baitfish streamer patterns would work. Maybe I could try dry fly patterns when the fish are eating off the surface. Any help would be appreciated.

People out doing it in the shallows all the time.. give it a shot

Goby pattern, near shore anywhere should work. I saw Lakers, browns and LL's all inside 20 foot of water yesterday. Unfortunately had a bit of the case of lockjaw. 37.5 right now 39-40 should change the game when it comes around. Streamers can be hot to. Here's my favorite trolling pattern.
