STRANGE problem Lowrance HDS 7

My unit (new last Summer) is acting weird this year. For example, if I select the 83 KHZ frequency the downrigger ball marks a black band 20 feet wide. If I select 200 KHZ the ball is displayed like a normal thinner line. Maybe transducer? I am using the one it came with.

Might want to check the sensitivity gain setting for starters
