Fly rod gills

Fished an Indian River Lake this afternoon and had a blast catching big gills and pumpkinseeds on my flyrod. Some on a popper but most on a parachute dry dragged across the surface. Good fun and good eats.

Actually I did catch a bunch of bass as well.

Very cool!     I know the season is not here yet. But the fish and their dinner don't care about what we deem open season.   Great fun!

Been back two more times and caught about 25 each time on fly rod poppers.
