So the long weekend of fishing has come to end! As I get settled back into a hotel in Kansas and back to reality can't help but think about the past days!!! It all started back on the Friday before the derby when I returned home after over a month away for work.. got home at 8pm the night before the derby and rigged the boat as fast as I could and what didn't get done got taken care of in the early hours of the derby after the first day miss Bri held 1st and second in the female division but we would slowly watch those fish move down the board ended with one sticking holding on to the 4th place spot and couldn't be happier for her since it was her first time trout fishing or even fishing on a boat she did great caught a bunch of fish just that one was worthy of the board.. had a fun 3 days of derby fishing filled with laughs and memories, the following day after the derby we found the boat on cayuga with with two good buddies and once again a first timer this one being my buddies little girl she was a trooper catching a few lakers giving us a few laughs and even enjoying a nap. Relaxed last Wednesday and left for the outer banks Thursday morning with good friends nick butch and Greg we went off shore fishing aboard the obsession chasing yellow fin tuna had a morning full of short strikes and hook ups from time to time we landed 9 yellow fin and one dorado I was the lucky one who got to do battle with a 89lb citation awarding yellowfin what a honor and what a battle it was, the memories made on this trip will for sure last a life time!!!! And finally yesterday was a treat on cayuga lake rough waters made for some fun fishing it was chaos to say the least doubles and triples made it almost impossible for me to get a full spread in the water I finally settled for 10 rods and just enjoyed the easy day of fishing found 55degree down 30 and it was game on for bows and salmon but all took fish riggers pulling spoons and flashers divers pulling flashers divers pulling spoons 3,5 color cores 1,2,3 hundred coppers was just plain fun big fish was 10.5 a bunch 7-9 for the lakers and multiple salmon over 5lb lake laid down and the bite slowed some but was still a very steady pick of fish. And now I am back to reality until next time. IMG_7066.JPGIMG_6993.JPGIMG_7052.JPGIMG_7065.JPGIMG_7063.JPG

Man, sounds like one heck of a great run and quite an awesome variety.  Great going and congrats.  I'm taking some friends out on Cayuga tomorrow evening.  Nice to see you found that great action there yesterday.

Glad you got in to some good times real! Looking to forward to fishing with you again. Lou derby? Who's in? Lol. Cinnamon, brought buddy out for first time trolling on cayuga tonight, got rough. 80-90 seems to be the # flys and flatfish 60 down. Pigs in that range.20180605_190615.jpg

I'm jealous of that yellowfin trip!  I went last year for some out of NJ.  How long was your charter at the outer banks?  How long to get to the fishing grounds?

Wow!  That's awesome!  We had a 4 hour run to grounds out of NJ and spent 30 hours fishing...pretty beat when we got back!
