I have been getting stuff ready for this weekend. I have. 4 rigger rods,2 10 color lead, 1 5 color lead, one 300 copper 2 wire dipseys , a set of big boards, al set with 15 pound leader. Am I on the rite track guys?

Not sure about the 5 color but I've heard the 10 colors have been hot. I've been having luck on divers Vs riggers, but get the lines in the water and see what works !! Bring "friends". Fish seem to be all over depth and fow. Have fun !

Right track.  Don't know about running 15 lb leaders on a 300 copper or full cores.  I've been running 25 lb on the longer coppers and cores this year.  Lots of big fish on Lake Michigan - same on Ontario?

No point in spending all the money and time rigging up for salmon and then losing your gear because of your 15 lb leaders.  20 lb leaders on the copper or leadcore, 30 lb on dipsys if running flashers/flies.

Should note that 15lb is fine for multi purpose rods. Good for browns and fine for salmon this time of year...dipsys deff want heavier 20-30lb leaders because of the shock..I personally like mono leaders for my dipsys because they stretch and don't break from hard strikes. As the season progresses and I target only salmon. I use 20lb fluoro on my leadcores and 20-40lb mono on my dipsys. If you use snubbers I'd run the fluoro instead of mono on the dipsys

your shorty leadcores will be in steelhead territory...which is fun.  400 copper and dipsys 230-260 back have been taking our bigger fish.
