It's been a few years since I have been out for kings .  I'm going to rerig everything. What pound monofilament are you guys putting on your downrigger rods these days. I used to run 30 and I'm wondering if that's still keeping the fleas off. Thanks to all

My first year at salmon I used 15 lb. After losing $100 worth of gear, I switched to 30 lb mono. Then I went to 45 or even 60 lb braid. My wire divers have 30 lb floro leaders. I would say 25 lb is the minimum whatever you use.

OR 30 lb test Bloodrun SeaFlee mono with a 20 lb quality fluoro leader and a solid ring swivel snap. For many years we used straight 12 lb test mono even with 30 plus kings but the flea issue brought an end to that😀

X2, if not for the flea problem I'd still run straight 12.
