Yes the rudd look kinda like a cross between a golden shiner and a carp and only the fins are reddish/orange colored. As lucky mentioned people release common goldfish (member of the carp family) and Coy as well  into these lakes and they are invasives. There is a whole school of coy in Canandaigua Lake and often seen at the north end near Inn on the Lake so they could be present in Seneca for just such a reason too.
