Warning Long Point State Park - Blue-Green algae -No swimming

I just received a notification on my cell phone from the Syracuse TV channel that there is a blue -green algae pproblem noted at Long Point State Park on Cayuga Lake - No swimming as of today until further notice.

The lake was fairly calm today. The blue green algae was all over the surface. Looked like tiger stripes of oily paint on the surface.

Geez mark I hope it dissipates by the time of the S/A derby....that stuff is nasty.

I looked at some pictures of bad BG Algae blooms. What I saw today off Long Point was minor. It was not thick enough to foul lines or stick to the boat. We will see..the heat is on...

Happy 4th to all.  Just thought I'd mention I also saw a lot of BG algae last night just south of T-Falls.  Large areas of it.  Hope it passes soon.

Deen's ,today there was warning signs at the dock. I haven't seen any signs of it out here in the lake we had a good blow yesterday think it pushed it off
