The Bloodrun Sea Flee works OK for the spiny fleas and when the fishooks aren't to the level they have been lately ....nothing seems to work well on these at the current concentrations..

Just add 100ft 50 lb big game 5ft  30 lb leader  to rigger rods  fleas were so bad we never set a rod below 50 feet Copper and lead core stayed fairly clean

I found that my torpedo weighted steel rods had no flea issues so i am going to get two more set ups and use them of riggers as well when fleas are bad plus the set ups often work better then riggers on some days .

No luck with Bloodrun, gamma co-polymar or big game, all suck 30-50 all bad, best Ive found is omniflex(?) made by shakespear, its not the answer but best ive found in 50#, flea sticks help some too

I used my needle nose pliers even on mono and it worked pretty well for me. I took a big bunch of fleas and simply squeezed down on the edge of the gob. Eventually, I even pressed down on the gob right on the mono being careful to not squeeze too hard. I'm planning to take a couple of 4" 2x4 chucks and using those to try to squeeze off the big globs.
