Is there certain days whether there be sun or clouds that you decide on what colors you're going to initially run . I usually start with greens and whites and see which one is working. I never have the confidence to go with anything fancy. Like a 42nd spinny or an nbk spinny

Don’t over think it. Worry more about where you’re fishing, speed, temp, water color, presence of bait, what you have for lunch.
Not as much what color or specific lure, more where and how

It’s all preference brother. I can’t catch a fish on a 42nd spinny. But I know people crush em on it. Green dot glow in am, green dot silver in the high sun. Glow spoons first thing, uv by 730. I don’t think color is as big of a deal first thing besides glow. Speed, direction, and presentation I’d pick over color. Attomik hammer fly, 190, stud, and big fin are my go to’s. Mix in a mirage once in awhile too.
