Rod length for lead thoughts

I have been running 6’6 mh rods for lead. The last couple days I have hooked into a couple of big fish and lost them. It seams like short rods I couldn’t do anything with them. Any opinions?

Some times you hook them.. sometimes you don’t....... just don’t overthink it......

I learned to pay attention to my drags when I set my rods in my holders

try setting your drags a little looser. and don't try to rush fish in. just remember the closer the fish is to the boat the less forgiving your line is, set drag accordingly.

If I had the choice, I wouldn't use the 6'6" MH rods. They don't have much forgiveness when a screamer is stripping line. And if you have Flasher, Diver, and meat rig or spoon, it puts a tremendous strain on things. It's a perfect anchor for the fish to rip the hook out.
