I'm not sure, but I'm thinking water temperature. Someone with more knowledge than me would have to tell you for sure.

I was just north of the plant yesterday and fleas were 10x better than they were last week. They are still out there but no where near as bad as they have been, deeper we went the less fleas we dealt with.

I think the worst is past.  I was out of Mexico the past 3 days.  I had nearly zero fleas.  I do run 30# flea flicker but I didn't have noticeable buildup on the downrigger wire which  had been a problem the week before.  I'm guessing the worst might be when they first hatch....but I'm guessing on that.

Today , I used one off my 30 lb rigger rods , loaded with fleas . So I used my 50lb rigger rod . It was clear of fleas.
