I use a convector 45 with about 800 feet of 19 strand backing and the 200 weighted steel. The line counter is quite important because every hundred feet of 19 strand drops the lure another 20 feet. It fits on the convector without any problems.

Thanks for your input. How do you run your steel line?

I usually run it off the boards one rod on each side using rubber bands on the 19 strand to hold it in the clips. when it is to rough to run boards I use one off the stern. When using flasher flies, I add another fifty feet of 19 strand to make up for increased resistance compared to lures

No LC? how are you utilizing the benefit of the 19 strand backing? do you have an alternative method of knowing  how much backing you have out? Thanks in advance.
