Has anybody used this unit. I was thinking about buying it for my new boat. I want to spend around $1,000 I'm wondering if anybody has any experience with this unit

I bought the hook 7 last year. Had issues with unit not turning off or turning back on by itself. It killed my battery twice. Lowrance has a weird warranty system. They want you to pay an upfront fee ( returnable) to get your unit fixed. Hook works fine now . I like the chirp. Menu is a little confusing. Steep learning curve if I had it to do over I’d buy something different

I have a hook 9, no issues at all. For the price and a weekend fisher I think its one of the best you can get. I have had 4 other Lowrance units so it wasn’t too bad to understand.

I got the hook 2-12 tripleshot real learning 3 of us trying different things we all got frustrated,  found out not enough power returned and got Elite-9 Ti Med/Hig only used once 10 times better great machine just got so hopefully only gets better
