While transit off Olcott NY debris was observed in the water, turned out it was two men. The ship’s crew organized a rescue operation and both men were recovered by a small boat and the US Coast Guard along with the ship’s rescue boat . Rescue drills by the ship’s crew contributed to the action. One survivor was recovered. The local boat should be credited for its assistance.
