I am heading north east for the weekend up to mud bay just wondering how far I would have to travel to get into some good water I’ve never been up there and it looks like it’s shallow for a while.just wondering if I should bring the riggers,planer boards etc.Are salmon and trout out of reach from there?dont wannany advice is greatly appreciated as always.i leave tomorrow around 1pm thanks!

My friends have fished out of Mud Bay for years.  Mostly for warmwater species.  I would think the trout/salmon would be a long run.  Chaumont Hardware should be a good source of up to date information.  You definitely should bring the planers if trolling for eyes.  Good luck.

Mud Bay is a long boat ride from salmon territory.

I’ve caught lake trout near Charity shoal. There’s a big hole just south of the shoal. And walleyes up on the shoal. Careful of getting into Canadian waters. Gps almost a must
