Tried to hunt a field today but got beat to it. Went home got duck decoys and went to the pond. Only had a 3 pack and a pair of Woodies come in . We got the 3 the other 2 landed on the dog when she was retrieving it. Nothing wanted to fly for us in that thick fog. 20181102_100132.jpeg

Went to another farm pond this morning had just about the same luck as yesterday. 2 mallards and a wood duck. Hopefully I find a nice spot with all this rain we have had. Lots of places for them to go .

When we get a lot of rain, there is a nice run off that we hunt that hold some birds . So that's where we ended up. Good action on such a nice deer day!! Lots of Woodies flying today. Buddy's puppy is going great !!!IMG_20181104_090155.jpegIMG_20181104_064405.jpeg

Had a good day at the farm pond . Had a push of ducks come in !! 200 mallards came in before legal , then had to pick away at them the rest of the morning. Also had a lost butter ball show up. Nothing beats a limit of geese over water on top of that. Very few ducks in my area. Fortunately had a group of geese come in and got three large ones. One was double banded in Ivey Lea Canada.

That's not good about your ducks but nice job on that bander.
This morning i got 2 mallards and 2 geese. Lots of mallards around here . Soon as 1 landed in a spot not huntable it was tough to complete so I left. I did see 3 shovelers couple Widgeon, and pintail . But no luck on them just out of range. With gun Saturday, then I go up North to camp Monday to Wednesday I hope they are still here when I get back.

Plan A was frozen this morning so had to go to plan B. When we got there that was also frozen over. I cut a big circle in the ice with the kayak , then slid the sheet I cut under the ice . Them ducks love the spot we cut out . Very little float ice makes them finish . Had a GWT come by and got cartwheeled . Along with a few blacks. Limit of mallards. Did a solo mission this morning and it ended quick . To cold to be messing around. Had a flock of 12 or so mallards land in the decoys and I water swatted 2 blacks then doubled on 2 Drake's then a Drake with the last shot. 5 birds 3 shots. I pick them up loaded my gun and 4 goldeneye's come right in and I shoot a Drake . That's what I call a Thanksgiving morning !!

Made it out to the farm pond . Had some nice size flocks come in today. Tried to just shoot green but there's always that 1 guy with tunnel vision. Only saw 2 blacks today , lost them on the turn as they set in for landing. Buddy's dog got the taste of cold but we had the heater in the shed for her. IMG_20181123_103658.jpeg

Quick hunt this morning . No birds on the lake that I tried today. Horrible, absolutely horrible. That's what u get when u don't scout a spot before u hunt it. Saw 10 small flocks of divers and 9 mallards total. Scratched up a little bit of work for "sky". Lick them Chop'sIMG_20181124_085340.jpeg
