Took a quick walk along the pier tonight, the South wind machine was on high speed!!! Waves were splashing up over the rails! Anyway, hoping that the wind pushes in some fish. =)

i pass through town a lot and was wondering when the lakers start getting close to shore, or the pier. My grandfather and great-uncle who i never knew one time back in the early 50's caught several 20 lbers from the north shore 'sea wall' back around christmas time (just one year it was hot). I guess for a few days they caught thier limitof monsters, before word spread and the whole town was there catching them..

when do they close in on the pier?

hmmm I'm not sure when!?! I grew up in Dresden NY, and always considered fishing the peir but usually stuck around closer to home. I am curious to learn how any of you do if you get the chance to fish it. How deep does it get off the end of that thing?

my parent grew up in watkins glenn, ny. apparently, the northern and southern ends are relatively shallow compared to other areas. the deepest parts of seneca from shore are on the east/west sides, midway. there are little cabins and houses along the sides which have docks, and they have seen people pull good sized lakers from them.
