I was hoping to drag my boat up to Oswego this Friday to do some fishin for the first time on my own, if the wave forecast holds true. I was hoping to get some Lakers, but I just read the season closes Sept 30th. What else could I go for this time of year, Browns, Salmon, maybe even walleye?

I'm new to this whole great lakes thing, so please excuse my ignorance if I said something stupid.

From what I see wind will northeast, east, northeast from Thursday pm through the weekend.
If that holds true, find a plan B

Laker country is not so close to Oswego. They are on the sand flats north east of Oswego. If you are already going there, try to launch out of Henderson and go due west until you hit 120 feet

I heard Henderson was good for Walleye as well, is that true?

Not so much in the harbor, head out and Fish around and in between Stoney and Calf islands, last trip up they were out over 65-75 ft. Run the bright stuff under the bait pods , if it’s too snotty to leave the harbor, put wire leaders on and Fish for Northerns!
