The store in Tonawanda took all their salmon stuff off the shelves to make room for the five people who will buy ice-fishing gear this year. All the flashers, dodgers, spoons, some flies etc. are all dumped into the bargain bin. DIG IN it's Christmas in October! :D

The US Fish and Wildlife survey says New York has 67,001 ice fishing guys over 16 and they fish 206,215 days a year through the ice. 2006 study.

RK;

Took a quick look at the numbers & I come out with 7.7978033 hours per person. Must be the new math??????????? LOL have to break out my old books??????

Technically if you are using 24 hours in a day :

(206,215 days) * (24 hours/day) = 4949160 hours

(4949160 hours)/(67001 fisherman)= 73.8669572 hours per fisherman

12 hour fishing day: 37 hours per fisherman

8 hour fishing day: 24.6 hours per fisherman

But ....there's only 37 days of hard water per year.

Actually, that's one heck of a long year if 67,001 guys can fish 206,215 days per year. :lol: Wish I could fish that many days a year. ;(

Just imagine: If they only dumped the stuff in the bin one day out of every 206,215 days. We'd have to wait 564 yrs till another Christmas in October. :!:

Of course if there were 206,215 days in a year, then there'd be 17,185 days per month. As we're just beginning another month & most of us would start fishing in March or 5 months from now, then according to that calender, we'd only have to wait 85,923 days till we launch the boats again, (give or take a few) and try out all those new toys.

Bottom Line: Jump on the Bargin Bin, they may not do again for a long time.

Gill-T, it isn't hijacking the thread, it really is related to the original topic.

Stopped at Gander today to check it out in henrietta only to find out the store was closed because of a power problem. 1 hour plus drive one way- that sucked. Oh well I'll check out Tonawanda Tommorrow.
